                                                 COLLEGE DIARIES
                        EPISODE:32

..."Extremely well-mannered, polite...", I overheard grandma speaking on the telephone as I was coming downstairs to fix dinner. 'Wow! I am well-mannered and polite!', I thought in my mind.

"And he is also very caring.", she continued. Wait, what?. Did she just say 'he'?.Who is that 'he'?

"Grandma, who are you talking to?", I asked because she only talks to two people on an almost daily basis. One is Aunt Morra and the other is my mom and I really hoped that she was not talking to the second person I just mentioned.

"Your mom.", she said covering the mouthpiece.

"And who is that 'he'?"

"You can stop eavesdropping, Daisy!", she said again.

"I am not doing that! I just heard you!", I protested. She kept the phone back and gave me a warm smile. I sat beside her on the old couch.

"So, who were you talking about?", I asked again, trying to sound casual this time.

"I think it's dinner time already...", she replied with a hidden smile.

"Fine. Don't tell me. I already know the answer anyway.", I replied sadly.

"Do you?", she questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, I do !", I said with a smile.

"Tell me then", she said cheesily with a broad smile and I knew she was teasing me.

"Grandma!!!", I said with a laugh which made her crack up as well!

                                                ********************************

The same night, I was reading a book when my phone rang. I picked it up without taking my eyes off the lines.

"Hello?", I said.

"Sweetheart, Daisy...you thought ignoring me would help you and you probably think all this has stopped...don't you? Sorry to tell you, dear, ignoring is never good."And disconnect. That was it. I froze. I completely froze because whoever that person was, he was correct. I had actually thought that this was over and I was free...but no, it was all an imagination. A reel imagination which was not true at all. I tried taking my mind off things by reading the book again, only it did not work. So, the best thing I did was I went to sleep as that was the only way to not think anything.
