 COLLEGE DIARIES

         EPISODE:73

..."Come here, sit! ", she said before cracking the 'news' to me. A million thoughts were running in my mind. I glanced at grandma and Lucy and then finally looked at mom who was searching for something on her mobile. Then she did something which enraged me. She opened her mobile to a picture of a boy, who looked...weird...he had a very thin face with dark curly hair.

"What?", I asked.

"You didn't guess already?", she asked with a smile. No mom. I guessed it. But I just don't want to believe it, okay?

"He's handsome, isn't he?", she asked. I looked at her and shook my head,

"I am sorry, he isn't", I answered. She cleared her throat and took her mobile from my hands. I glanced at grandma who already looked worried and anxious.

"Well. He's my friend, Audrey's son...he is polite, calm, and rich...I mean Audrey's rich and so is his son...and Audrey says that...", she paused but I already knew what she was about to say next."...she wants you to be her daughter-in-law.", she completed. I got up.

"What nonsense is this, mom?".She held my hand and smiled,

"Daisy, he's affluent and Audrey says he very much liked your photo that-"

"Why would you circulate my photos without asking me first?", I cut her statement angrily."...mom, who to marry and when to get married, both are my own decisions and stop using the word rich and affluent, because that's nothing I care about!", I answered.

"You mean you don't want to get out of this filthy house? You don't want to upgrade your lifestyle? Aren't you tired of earning for yourself? or cooking meals and washing the dishes?-", she started shouting. And she called my house 'filthy'.And why would I have to 'earn' when she would have helped us?

"No! I am not!!!", I shouted, cutting her sentence off again.

"Daisy! Lower your voice!", grandma said.

"You better listen to me, Daisy!", mom started again.

"Yeah, okay. What do you want me to do?", I asked.

"Can you stop back answering?", she asked, narrowing her eyes. I almost said, "No, I cannot", but then halfway stopped because who's fond of unnecessary drama except mom? So, I left that question unanswered which only made her shout more.

"What manners have you taught her mom? Huh? You never stopped her from back answering elders or inviting her boyfriend to our house? What's his name again?", she asked, her voice loud.

"He is NOT my boyfriend!!!!!!", I shouted back.

"Daisy! Stop misbehaving I said!", she shouted.

"Misbehave? Mom! My grandma taught me to behave properly right from when I was a child and you? You were far too busy enjoying your own life, and why have you come here in the first place? Let's be clear, mom-No one needs you, okay?"

"Shut up!!!!", she shouted and then slapped me. And it hurt.

"Anna! Stop it! Daisy, go up to your room!", grandma said, and came forward. My throat began to dry out really. It was way too much drama and I hated it. I hated her.

"Listen up one thing! You will go and meet him tomorrow at 10 am in the cafe and you will marry him!", she said and went out of the house.

"Daisy!", grandma said, holding my hands.

"What wrong have I done that I'm going through this?!!!", I said, hugging her. She gently patted my hair and said,

"Every problem comes with a solution and I'm sure we'll find a solution to this as well!".Grandma wasn't my mom...but she was way better than my mom. She understood me, way better than anybody else could.
