COLLEGE DIARIES
EPISODE:51
...On Wednesday night, as I was tidying up my room, my phone started ringing and the biggest problem with me is that sometimes I don't even look at the display to check who it is. Stupid me. It was mom. I always, always, always rejected her phone because I hate her more than anything. Anyway, that moment I had to talk as I had unfortunately picked up her call.
"It's been almost five months you are ignoring my calls, Daisy! What is wrong with you?!!!", she screamed at me.
"Nothing's wrong with me, mom. I am just very busy with my studies these days."
"No, you are not. You are busy partying away these days. Don't even try to argue! I know you are just hanging and roaming around everywhere!", she shouted again. I sighed. She was such a headache. A big, big headache. I felt grateful that she was not here...with us. Then she talked about the amount of income I was earning through my classes and where did I spend 'that much' of money as if I ever had that much to spend.
"And you don't even care to send a penny to me!", she screamed and at this point, I was like, 'Wait...! Aren't you supposed to help us financially?', but I just shut up and kept listening to whatever she had to say. And I swear, that night I was so tired after talking with her...I slept super peacefully.
*************************
The next day as I was returning from my classes, I saw a man who looked to be in his late fifties. He was tall and up-to-date and there were some people along with him. He appeared to be speaking with some people and giving them money. After those people were gone and I was a bit closer, I noticed that there was a five hundred dollar bill fallen on the road. I went up and picked up the note but he had gone away till then. I looked on both sides and I found a car at a distance and that person going toward it. I hurried up and reached up to him.
"Excuse me, sir...you dropped this money over there.", I said, returning the bill. He opened his wallet and rummaged through some money then looked at me, quite amazed.
"God bless you...Thank you but you can take the money", he said and started moving towards the car. Now, it felt weird. How can someone take somebody else's money?
"No problem, sir...you can take your bill.", I said, gave it to him, and rushed away before he forced me to take the dollar. On Friday, I went grocery shopping and this time, I saw Claudia shopping vegetables from the section I had suggested.
"Claudia!", I said. She looked at me and smiled.
"Daisy! What a reunion!!!", she said hugging me as if we were friends who met after several years. That day, she was wearing big earrings again, with a matching hairband, necklace, and also a bracelet.
"How did your dish turn out?", I asked.
"Oh! It was just awesome, but my brother, who is a jerk hated it. He told me to never enter the kitchen again, how rude is that, isn't it?", she said, rolling her eyes. Claudia talked a lot. And by a lot, I mean A LOTT!!! As we both came outside, I saw the same person whom I had returned the money the other day.
"Dad! Why are you here?", Claudia told him.
"How many times have I advised you to ask Nancy to cook and shop for whatever you want? What do we pay her for if you will do all the shopping!", he definitely looked quite angry with his daughter.
"Dad!!! I love handpicking vegetables and besides, Nancy cooks....umm. Anyways, Dad, meet my friend, Daisy!", she said and that was the moment he looked at me and realized who I was.
"She is such a nice girl! She helped me shop.", she said.
"Indeed she is.", he replied.
"Why don't you invite your new friend to our house party?", he said to his daughter. Claudia slapped her head,
"Oh yes! Why not! Daisy, do come to our party this Sunday...there will be everyone coming as well. Our relatives, our friends. There will be a lot of games and a bunch of fun! You will surely have a great time."
"I will, sure...Thank you!", I replied with a smile.
