    COLLEGE DIARIES

             EPISODE:60

...One Thursday, I visited the cafeteria because I hadn't gone to the cafe for one month and I  wanted to go in there. I first looked around to make sure Ethan wasn't there and when I saw that he wasn't, only then did I enter. I saw an empty seat and I sat there. In a fraction of a second, trust me, he came and chose the table which was two chairs away from me. I swear it felt so weird. And I didn't look towards him but I just knew he was looking at me. I could just sense it. Sophie was out of sight. And to make things worse than they already were, Pete came and sat...right in front of me.

"Hey, how are you?", he asked.

"I am good, how are you?"

"Happy as always! You seem a bit anti-social these days...?", he asked. I looked at Ethan, who was typing on his phone, and said,

"No! Just carving out some 'me-time', I guess?".Then he looked towards Ethan and said,

"And that person over there looks quite unsocial as well to me..."

"How do you call a person who's texting on his phone anti-social?", I said, looking at the empty table.

"You know what?", Pete said.

"What?", I asked, still looking at the empty table.

"I kinda liked you...".I looked up to him in utter shock. He laughed and said,

"I said I 'liked' you! Past tense, you see? But then, I saw that temporarily 'unsocial' person and you together and you guys looked so good together", he paused "...then I thought, 'I don't deserve her...he does!'",he completed. Can someone tell me how do you reply to this? Because I had no idea how to.

"Now, I won't ask you why are you not speaking because that's none of my business but I just hope you two be friends once again! Good Luck!", he said with a smile and went away. I glanced over at Ethan again, he was still looking in his phone.'Do we look 'good' together?', I thought.'Why would we?', I thought next.'Or maybe?...-', I heard the bell ring which meant it was time for the post-lunch lectures. So I got up and went to the lecture hall.

                            ******************************

The next day as I was walking out, I heard my name being called,

"Daisy!", Ethan called after me.

"Daisy, please listen!", he called again. I decided to walk away by ignoring him but something stopped me dead. That day was different. He didn't let me go, he held my wrist before I could take the next step. I flipped around and I looked into his eyes. But this time, they looked different...of course, they were those deep brown eyes I had always adored but the charm was absent. Instead, they were filled with hurt. Deep, dark, hurt.
