 COLLEGE DIARIES

EPISODE:67

...It had been three whole days and Ethan's condition was clearly as it was...there was no real improvement. Everyone's worry had reached another level. I came home that day at about 4:00 pm and started preparing coffee. Grandma was sitting on the couch while Lucy read a book.No one said anything to anyone. I removed three mugs from the shelf and started pouring in the prepared coffee as I said,

"I feel like I've misjudged a person far too much...".Lucy looked at me and said,

"But you never knew, right?".I shook my head and sighed,

"I never tried to know the truth...I feel like slapping myself for my downhearted behavior, grandma. He's never going to speak to me after what I've done..."

"Don't think that...", grandma said, taking the coffee mug.

"But how can I possibly be so rude!!!? I just don't understand myself!!!", I said, completely frustrated.

"It was a misunderstanding, Daisy...you know how bad can misunderstandings be?...for that communication is a must...", she replied. I looked on the floor soaking in her words and at the same time also realizing what kind of an idiot I had been.

"At least you realized your mistake? And at least this misconception is cleared now?", grandma said, looking at me. I nodded,

"It is...", I said.

                               *******************

When I went to the hospital again that evening, I saw Eva and her mom sitting on the bench...Claudia and Sophie were nowhere to be seen. I said a quick hello and asked,

"Where's Claudia and Sophie?"

"Claudia is at home and Sophie went home just like fifteen minutes back...she said she'll be here tomorrow...", Eva replied. Then I went ahead, entered the ICU ward, and sat in the chair. I looked at him...no change, absolutely as he was the other day...I got up and stood looking outside the window nearby...everything appeared so minute...all I could see were cars and bikes running from road to road. Clearly, everyone was busy in their own lives.

"Daisy...", I heard a soft voice. I quickly turned around,

"Ethan!", I said out of joy. But he was still unconscious.'Did I just hear him call me...or did I not...?'
