 COLLEGE DIARIES

         EPISODE:72

                   ...It was Saturday and I had called Ethan over to my place as I  needed help with editing one of my assigned projects and just letting you know, I am unlucky when it comes to my editing skills while Ethan is a pro. So, I had asked him to help me out with the same and he agreed. We were in the drawing-room, working on the laptop when our doorbell rang,

"I'll see who it is", Lucy said, going toward the door. Turned out, opening the door was a big bad surprise. It was Mom.'Why can't she inform us she's coming?!!!', I thought to myself.

"Surprise!!!", she said, throwing both her hands in the air. She had two large suitcases beside her which meant that she was here to stay for too long.'Oh God!!! Whyyyyy?!!!!'.If I had known earlier that she was about to come as an 'unpleasant surprise'...I would never have called Ethan because she's so vexatious!

"Oh, Daisy! Just how bad have I missed you!!!", she came and hugged me. A fake smile appeared on my face as I said,

"Mom! Long time no see? How are you?"

"I am fine! My dear, how's college and who's he?", she asked, glancing toward him.

"He's a good friend of mine..."

"from university?", she asked again. I nodded.

"Hello, Misses Rosa!", he greeted her like he greets any other person, all happy and cheerful. But she just gave him a hard look and turned away. Clearly, she didn't like him but who was I to care.

"Right. A friend from university.", she said, going toward the kitchen. We exchanged glances and he looked a bit confused.

"I am so sorry!!! I told you my mom is-", I was about to say when she again asked from the kitchen,

"What's his name?", her voice sounding extremely irritated. The question was for me but he answered it.

"I am sorry again!", I whispered to him before she asked any more questions. He just nodded and gave me that 'I understand!' look with a smile. Then he got up and said,

"So, Daisy, I'll mail you the assignment later, is that okay?"

"Great. Sure, thanks!", I answered after which he went away. As I got up, mom asked,

"Can I know where do you store tea powder?"

"It's in the second shelf from left...over there.", I pointed.

"So do you expect me to make tea by myself?", she asked, all irritated.

"Oh, you never asked me to make you tea?!", I said.

"That's because you were so busy talking with your 'friend'!", she said, her voice a bit louder. And she stressed the word 'friend'.

"No problem. I'll make you tea now.", I said, going toward the kitchen. Though, I don't know what kind of people drink tea instead of juice after traveling.

"No, thank you, I'll make it myself.", she said. I turned to go up in my room when she again said,

"And just to let you know...I'm not fond of your friends coming over to our place...at least till I'm here".I told you my mom was very vexatious.

"How long are you here for?", Lucy asked. She was just tired of her in twenty minutes.

"Until Christmas...thought, why not celebrate this year with my family?", she said, looking at me. I nodded with the same fake smile.

"Anyway, Daisy! I've got some exciting news for you!", she said with a broad smile.'Exciting news? For me???', I thought to myself and went upstairs to my room...only the news was not an exciting one. It was a rubbish one.
