 COLLEGE DIARIES

         EPISODE:84

..."Did your mom reply back?", grandma asked on Friday as I was watching an extremely boring show on the T.V.

"She didn't.", I sighed, turning off the television.

"Then how do we know where she is?", Lucy said 'in-between'.I am sure by now that you already know Lucy and her behavior.

"I don't know but I am so sure that wherever she is she's all fine.", I replied.

"How do you know that? Do you have a magic mirror or something that tells you about everything?".You can guess who said that...I mean it's pretty straightforward.

"Well, I can just sense it, my heart says she's fine."

"Ohhhh!!! So, you trust your heart 'that much'?", she said with a stupid grin spread across her face. Okay...so this conversation was losing track.

"Lucy, one should always learn to trust their heart as much as they trust their selves.", I said, got up, and went upstairs to my room to complete my pending design assignment. I heard my phone ring as soon as I got to my room. It was Sophie.

"Are you deaf?", she shouted angrily.

"What?", I said.

"Daisy, I'm calling you from the past five minutes and you're not picking up!"

"My phone would have been on silent, not that I'm deaf!", I laughed.

"I see!", she said.

"Anyway, what is it?"

"It's stupid of me that I forgot to ask you what are you wearing for Ethan's Christmas party and you are even stupider to never have me reminded of it".I laughed. Sophie was too funny when she was annoyed.

"I hope you know the theme.", she said next.

"I do. Black and red, right? I guess I'll wear the dress my aunt gifted me.", I said because one thing it was red and the other, it looked somewhat better than all the worn-out dresses I owned.

"But I have to tell you, my dress isn't blood red, it's a shade lighter and I think it'll do but-"

"But what now?"

"Well, my dress has zero amount of black!", I said realizing it at the exact same time I told her. I know...I can be very careless at times...

"No worries when Sophie's at your help!"

"How can you help me? You can't exactly paint it black or-"

"Shut up! I have a black belt with a golden buckle that I got for my last birthday and I rarely ever use it, you can take it! Done?!"

"Done! You are a perfect stylist, Sophie!", I said to which she cleared her throat, said Thank you in a way that made me crack up.

"And Daisy, any news about your mom? Where she is?", Sophie asked. I looked outside my window.

"No idea but I know she's fine!", I replied.

"Yeah right. You sensed it!", she said before keeping the phone.

                            ***********************

Only ten days remained for Christmas and since everyone was invited, everyone had to wear outfits according to the theme. I was hating this 'theme' thing already because clearly, what does one do if one doesn't have the exact colored dress?

"Daisy?", Sophie asked, coming into my room when I was busy completing my assignment. Yes! We had a lot of assignments to complete! I looked at her and she had that sweet look on her face which she only has whenever she needs my help in terms of whatever. I turned back to doing my work.

"Daisy!", she said again.

"What is it, Lucy I'm doing my studies. Leave!"

"I wanted to borrow your black jeans, can I?", she asked slowly. I told you, right?

"No!", I snapped back. Because every time she borrows my clothes, she ruins them. I remember giving her my white top last time which she spilled coffee on. And the stain remains till date.

"Please? I need it to go with the theme!", she said and I couldn't deny it. She had a nice red top but she didn't have black jeans. Wearing a blue one wouldn't match the theme. So I gave her and made her take a promise that she wouldn't ruin them.
