COLLEGE DIARIES

                  EPISODE:86

...It was finally Christmas day and we were having lunch. We had prepared French dip sliders, along with some apple pie and Christmas drink which is basically cranberry juice. It is a ritual each year followed in our house that we cook this trio each year on the day of Christmas and I love it! It just gives some very beautiful Christmas vibes.

"Merry Christmas!!!", we said as grandma, Lucy, and I clinked our glasses of cranberry juice.

"I think this year the decoration has come out even more pretty, what do you think?", Lucy said, looking around the walls we had decorated with decorations which were the decorations we saw on Christmas since we were born. Nothing new in that.

"These are the decoratives we put each year, what's new?", I questioned. She made a face,

"I'm talking about the vibes!".Silly girl. Just one minute ago she was talking about the decorations.

"Yes, right!", I said, just to keep her happy, and anyway, I hate arguing on the day of festivals. I mean, Please! I expected grandma to talk about where my mom would be, but she didn't. Nor did Sophie. Why weren't they asking anything about her?!

"I wonder where mom would be...she came to celebrate with us this year...", I said.

"Oh! She's all good!", grandma said with a sparkle in her eyes, not even a hint of worry that she showed just ten days ago.

"How do you know?"

"I can sense it!", she said with a smile. Grandma was hiding something from me and I could sense it but I remained shut.

                            *********************

It was five in the evening and I was getting ready for Ethan's Christmas party. I wore my dress along with the belt Sophie had given me and looked at myself in the mirror. I combed my hair and put on a glittery clip which Lucy insisted on. There I was! Ready to go!!! Right at that time, our doorbell rang. It was Sophie and she looked dazzling, wearing a red-colored maxi dress with sparkly hints of blacks, dark smokey eyes, her hair tied back in a perfect ponytail and red stilettos completed her look. Truly, I felt like a crap looking at her.

"You ready?", she asked with a smile.

"I am! And you look awesome!!!", I said. She entered our house,

"Thank you. Now, let's get you ready", she said, taking out her makeup bag.

"I just said I'm ready!"

"You aren't!!!"

"I am!!!"

"Please? Just a tiny amount of makeup?", she asked with a pleading face. I sighed,

"Okay, okay fine!".And that crazy girl took one hour, I repeat ONE WHOLE HOUR to get me ready! And in between I kept stopping her by saying, "Don't you dare paint my face with this!" and "That shade is just too dark!" and she kept tsking and asking me to shut up. When she was finally done, I gave a look at myself in the mirror and...I actually really liked how I looked! Unbelievable as it may seem for a girl who hates makeup, but Sophie had done a mind-blowing job. She had agreed with me to give me a natural look and all shades of light. My makeup was just as light as a bare face yet, it looked good. I still wonder what on earth took us one whole hour, maybe our arguments did! We finally went downstairs and when grandma saw me, she couldn't take her eyes off me.

"You look beautiful!!!", she said, kissing my forehead.

"Thanks, grandma!".Lucy came and even she gave me a surprised look,

"Daisy! Everyone is gonna look at you like, 'WOW! Who is this girl!".I smiled,

"Thanks, Lucy...for your compliment, you look good as well just make sure to give back my black denim....in a non-ruined condition, please!"

"Sure!", she laughed. Just then there was a bell at our door...
