DREAMFUL

  CHAPTER:7

                           

...There were in total three interviewers. 'Uff! Three people! I thought there was only one interviewer!', she thought. An old lady sat in the middle with white hair and fashion sense 'up-to-the-mark' even at that age. She wore red lipstick which actually suited her along with a red dress and on the table in front was written, 'Andy Williams-Fashion Stylist'.She then smiled at the man sitting to the left of Andy. He was wearing spectacles and looking down in his notebook, writing something and refusing to make any eye contact, though, Destiny read the name in front of him.'Ryan Fletcher-Fashion Sales Associate'.She then moved on to look at the person to the right of Andy and she found him already smiling at her. She wanted to shout at him and call him words! He was the one who had ruined her coat! 'Edwin Floyd-Creative Director'.

'What!!! He's gonna interview me?!!!'.The look on his face was all smiles and Destiny wanted to punch him but she maintained her smile...she was in a fashion interview...of course...

"Please take a seat, Miss Destiny", Andy Williams said and Destiny came ahead saying,

"Thank you!"

She looked at Edwin again who was still smiling at that time, looking down in the notebook, writing something. Suddenly Destiny realized that in no way was Edwin going to pass her interview. Why would he? She had shouted at him, she threw his coat in the mud, she called him 'crazy boy!'

"So, Miss.Destiny.Tell us about yourself...why do you want to participate in Miss. Photogenic?", Edwin asked, smiling at her. She smiled back at him as she had read in 'Interview tips', the key point was to smile and maintain eye-contact. So she had to!!! But in her mind, she said, 'Shut the hell up!'.Destiny took a deep breath,

"Walking the ramp has always been my dream and fashion is an industry I feel I'm genuinely interested in".Edwin wrote down some lines.

"Miss. Destiny", Andy Williams said, "What is your taste in fashion?"

"I feel fashion is a huge and enlarged industry...wherein everyone has their own views. When it comes to me, I always prefer something comfortable as well as chic. As for my fashion taste, casuals is my go-to.", she answered without a pause.

"So you feel your outfit has to be comfortable first and then, secondly, should it look good?", Edwin asked.'Ohhh! So you tryna test me?', Destiny thought to herself, looked at him square in the eye, and said,

"They come hand-in-hand. If you feel good, you look good, I guess that's how it works for me."

"I am loving your answers, Destiny. Tell us about your hobbies.", said Ryan Fletcher.

"Thank you. I love writing poetry and singing, cooking, maybe a bit of photography."

"So, Miss.Destiny, how often do you exercise or go to the gym?".'Cool! I will kill you Edwin Floyd!', Destiny thought. She looked on the floor and back at him,

"Honestly, I've never been to the gym and I'm not a fan but I am starting gym tomorrow. All thanks to my obstinate sister!"

'Silly, silly me!!! Why did I mention my sister and why was I sarcastic?!!!', she thought in her mind. Edwin smiled.

"The last question...", Ryan Fletcher said, still not making eye contact."What were some challenges and how did you overcome them at your last job?"

"I worked for a bar code scanning job, the main problem was dealing with grumpy customers, of course, they argued so much!".Andy laughed,

"Argument is everywhere, dear...you just need to learn the art of the deal, deal, deal!"

"Got it. Thank you so much.", Destiny answered with a polite smile.

"Thanks for the interview. We'll mail you about your selection and then let you know about the further details. Have a good day!", Edwin said, giving her a broad smile.'God! This girl is quirky.", he thought to himself while Destiny thanked them all, took one last look at Edwin, and came out of the interview hall feeling super relaxed. It felt like a ton of heaviness has been lifted off her shoulders.
