DREAMFUL

    CHAPTER:18

..."Your answer was doubtlessly beautiful.", Edwin said, the next morning at the gym, while Destiny was taking a water break after her jog. Destiny rolled her eyes,

"You don't know how it feels to not have a dad, Edwin.".He slightly laid back and stretched his arms,

"You're right. I don't know how it feels to not have a dad...but, I know how it feels to not have parents", he replied. Destiny's head shot up, who was busy treating her shoe bite. Tears started to slowly fill her eyes when he said that. Of course, she was an emotional wreck.

"You don't have parents...?", she asked, in a voice as low, she could hardly hear herself. He didn't meet her eye but shook his head.

"I'm so sorry, Edwin...I didn't know-".He shook his head again.

"It's no problem.", he said with a weak smile and finally met her eye. Till he looked at her, she already had a tear rolling down her cheek.

"You don't have to cry, Dez-"

"Why did you call me 'Miss Destiny' back at the audition?", she said, wiping her tears.

"That's the silliest question I've-".Destiny giggled.

"It's not!", she said, still laughing." imagine you calling me, 'Dez' while you're asking me some question and Andy and Ryan be like...' Whattt?!", she said, making a face and laughed again. Edwin looked at her and smiled,

"By the way, what happened to your leg?", he asked, pointing to Destiny's shoe-less foot.

"Oh, this?! I can't describe how atrocious it was to wear those heels yesterday and today after jogging, this shoe bite has become worse."

"Come on! You just walked like one round in those sandals of yours and the length of the ramp was approxi-"

"Have you ever walked in high heels?", she asked, raising her eyebrow. He gave her a perplexed look.

"HAVE YOU EVER walked in heels, Edwin Floyd?!", she asked again.

"Ah...of course, not...that's stupid!"

"Exactly! So, you don't know, okay? Anyway, tell me what were you writing in that notebook?", she asked, opening her water bottle.

"Your points?"

"Great! How much did I score?", she asked again.

"That's confidential information."

"Ah, whatever...I'm not-"

"Edwin! How are you?", came a familiar voice from behind them. It was Stephanie-the evil Stephanie. Even though she was evil, she was always up-to-the-point-well-dressed. She had the power to look effortlessly stylish any time of the day, well, that's what Destiny thought. She flashed Dez a wicked smile and sat beside Edwin. Destiny had seen girls go 'Whoa!' and 'Wow!' for Edwin, there was no doubt in that, he had a debonair personality and looked super suave.

"Hey! Fine...how 'bout you?", he said, getting up.

"Cool as ever? Where are you going?", she asked.

"Um...got some errands to run? See ya later?", he said with a broad smile, looked at Destiny one last time, and went away. Dez knew he was lying, no proof, nothing, she just knew...whenever Edwin said 'Um...', he lied. Destiny had mastered that trick to find out when was he lying and when not, though she had only known him for one and a half months up till then.'Maybe...he just wants to avoid Stephanie...', she concluded to herself.

"You seem to be 'spending a lot of time' at the gym?", Stephanie asked, looking at Dez. Destiny smiled,

"One hour daily is ' a lot of time'?

"Oh! and how's dating your interviewer?", she asked again. She hated Stephanie for this and many other things.

"We aren't-"

"I was just joking...that can't be possibly possible, can it?", she smirked and went away.
