DREAMFUL
CHAPTER:49
Destiny called it a stroke of luck when her votes were high enough to not get her eliminated from the pageant. The voting poll was on throughout the weekend for the citizens to vote for their favorite models and Destiny had won the game...yet.
"I told you that we aren't going to let you get eliminated.", Ivy said, as Destiny shuffled through her wardrobe, choosing an ideal outfit for the day's evening. It was a Monday and the pageant had arranged a nutritionist talk/fashion tips/ question-answer session for all the shortlisted forty models.
"Ivy, I passed by a fluke, trust me, Stephanie made the day worse enough for me to come back home and she keeps on making my day worse every time we have a chat." Ivy chewed another caramel popcorn as she said,
"No one passes by a fluke, miss model, especially not when the judging criteria is in the hands of the citizens and not your perfect interviewer, oh by the way, it's been a long time, how's he?"
"He's fine...oh! Talking of him, did I tell you he clicked some amazing candid photographs of me? which he forgot to forward me, of course!", she said, rolling her eyes, then continued, "Let me text him and ask for those!"
"Photograph? Him? You? When did this-"
"I'll tell you, I'll tell you, let me send a text first.", said Destiny while chatting and then filling up the details for Ivanna.
"Wow. I like this plot, it's cute.", Ivanna replied.
"Sure! Why won't you?", Destiny said, sarcastically, then added, "There's no plot, Ivy, anyway, tell me which one should I wear tonight?", she held two different sets of clothes, a pink maxi dress, and a grey ruffle top.
"Grey one, with black cargo pants and beach curls, no makeup- makeup look."
"Okay ma'am!", Destiny smiled.

Speeches and lectures are boring. True, but it was Destiny who found them way too boring.
"I don't feel like going, it's lectures about how to take care of your skin and what not to eat along with dinner afterward which I'm sure would consist of a lot of green salads", she said, after getting ready and coming out of her room.
"So don't go?", Grace said.
"It's mandatory."
"Then is there a point of questioning!?".Destiny rolled her eyes, walking out the door, little did she know, the evening wasn't going to be the amount of boring she had predicted it to be.
****************************
The hotel booked for the day's event was a seven-star, that screamed 'Luxury'. The aroma of the air was light and pleasant flowered with perfumes that smelled expensive. The entrance of the mansion was lined with rows of exotic flowers including roses and lilies, the lamp posts at every other step with cozy lighting along with the trees adorned with fairy lights made Destiny stop and stare in amazement and she hadn't even entered yet, this was just the entrance she was at.
"Good evening, ma'am, your good name?", she heard someone, as she snapped back to her senses. The lady was wearing a dark blue shirt along with a beige pencil skirt and she had a bunch of ID cards in her hand.
"Destiny Decker", she replied, as the lady searched among the IDs to find hers.
"This hotel has an ID entry system, so make sure you don't lose this, have a good evening, ma'am.", she smiled, handing over the ID to Destiny as she started walking ahead with slow steps, absorbing the beauty of the mansion. The event was to start at seven p.m sharp and it was six thirty-five, which meant there was still loads of time, so Destiny thought of walking around a little exploring the mansion when she heard a horrible screech behind her. And when Destiny turned, she saw Stephanie, at a distance, leaning against a car with a heel in her hand with a face close to crying. She had her balayage highlighted hair in a knot and she wore a sparkly pastel green dress that ended just above her ankle. She had a lot of stuff, in two huge tote bags and looked like she needed help-serious help. Stephanie required help. Destiny didn't even give a second thought as she ran toward her.
"Stephanie, what is it?"
"I...I think I have a cut in my leg", she said, almost sobbing. Destiny got down on her knee to inspect but she couldn't see anything. The spot Stephanie had selected to stand at was in such dark.
"I cannot see, but I do have bandages, let's go over there?"
"Destiny, I think it's time for the event to begin...can we fix this after we are inside? Can you help me with this, please?", she said, pleading, handing Destiny a thin tin box along with a chanel white sling as she carried the two heavy tote bags herself and started walking, with one heel still in her hand.
"But-", Destiny began.
"I'll see you inside, I need to apply something to this before it gets worse!", she cried.
"Okay, sure, you go ahead, I'll follow", Destiny said, hurrying up behind her when the tin box in her hand suddenly started getting warm, warmer, and then hot. Destiny looked confused as she opened the box to see a burning cigarette.
"Stephanie!!!", she shouted to the silhouette who now appeared to run away, and just when she started jogging herself,
"Ma'am, please stop here.", she heard a deep, husky voice, one, that sent shivers down her spine, which made her stop in her tracks. He was a tall man, dressed in full black attire and had a stern look on his face.
"You know smoking is prohibited here, right?", he said, inspecting the cigarette in her hand. WHY WAS SHE STILL HOLDING IT?! He was the hotel's bouncer and she had been caught. She threw away the cigarette from her hand as she panicked and said,
"Look, you are having a misunderstanding, I swear I do not smoke and this isn't my cigarette, this...this is not mine, it belongs to-", she was panting and huffing.
"I can't help you with that, ma'am, you will have to come with me to the officials, also before that, I'd like to check your purse for any further restricted things.", he said, in the same plain tone, as if nothing had happened as he pointed towards the white chanel purse, which was Stephanie.
"You do not understand what I said? I'm telling you this isn't mine, please try to understand, I request you! Even this belongs to that girl, why are you-".
"NO EXCUSES PLEASE!", he said, in a voice much higher, causing Destiny to flinch. Where was everyone else?
"Give me your bag!", he said, snatching it from her as he opened it and all the contents spilled on the floor. Including, a makeup mirror, a lighter, and a lip gloss.A lighter.Great. Stephanie was very wise. He picked up the lighter and laughed a little,
"You tell me that the cigarette isn't yours as if we are going to buy your nonsense!"
"I'M TELLING YOU, AREN'T I?! This is truly Not mine, nor is the purse, look," she said, showing him her purse, which was bought from a local store, "this is my bag, not this one!!"
"Please come with me, ma'am.", he said, starting to walk.
"I'M NOT COMING ANYWHERE, NOR TO THE OFFICIALS, NOR ANYWHERE BECAUSE I DID NOT DO ANYTHING!", she shouted, gathering courage. The bouncer tried to hold her by the arm which she flung away, as she shouted,
"AND YOU? Who are you to touch me, huh?"
"Okay then.", he said, as he said something into the walkie-talkie in his hand, and soon came a blonde female police, running down the hallway. She grabbed Destiny's arm and started pulling her in the opposite direction,
"Ma'am, where are you taking me!", she shouted to the police who was talking to the bouncer as they walked and she ignored Destiny.
"WHERE ARE YOU GUYS TAKING ME!?", she said again, this time higher despite the lump in her throat as she tried stopping her tears. The lady police, looked fed up as she told the bouncer,
"This girl is a headache, call the officials".And just like that, her heart began thumping like crazy. What were they gonna do? Throw her out of the pageant? But she hadn't done anything. Nothing at all!
"Sir, can you please come to the hallway entrance, gate -6, to sort this out?", the bouncer said into the walkie-talkie.
"I'm telling you I did not do any of this!", she shouted again, her vision getting blurry and her hand was still being held by the lady police and it honestly hurt like hell. The grip of the lady on her arm was way too solid for her sensitive hands and it had already started creating a red bruise.
"LEAVE ME!", she shouted toward the lady, as the tears rolled by.
"Dez? Dez, it's you?!", came a shocked voice from, "I'll be right there.", the voice said again before the device disconnected.
